Ethnic Print Media Group Conducts Audit of Black Newspapers
Ethnic Print Media Group has completed its second nationwide audit of the top Black newspapers in the United States. The 2007 effort covered a broad range of Black newspapers encompassing publications from top 20 markets including: Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago and Washington DC.
The largest scale audit of its kind, the initiative reinforces the strength of the Black newspaper. The audit will help to raise awareness of Black newspapers as a cost-effective, efficient and targeted means to connect with the African American community. Consistent circulation values support the case for advertisers to recognize these outlets as a powerful means to reach a niche market.
“In an effort to continue the growth and success of Black newspapers we have made it our mission to improve the landscape for publishers, advertising agencies and fortune 500 clients. Our goal is to create a valuable tool that will make Black newspapers a staple in the media mix,” said Robert Bush, vice president, multicultural advertising, Ethnic Print Media Group. “We will continue to dedicate our resources to making this a yearly initiative to maintain the integrity of our member papers.”
Ethnic Print Media Group has again partnered with the Circulation Verification Council on this venture. The Circulation Verification Council is an independent, third party audit company that specializes in community newspapers and niche publications providing an accurate assessment of a publication’s reach and market penetration.
